Jim has just posted an edited video on CDS was created by pam
BRAVO to our very own Charlotte. She edited the original video (there were a few places where Jim said MMS when he meant CDS) - and Jim has re-released the 2-9-12 video with the edits in it!

Pam Gotcher, sorry my ignorance what is the purpose of the catcher (clip) in the tube where the gas (Chlorine Dioxide) passes.

I think it's to hold the tube in place - although I didn't see the tube clipped to the bottle, which would be one way, but maybe it's just a little extra weight. We call that a clothes pin here in the US and it's traditionally used to attach wet clothes to a line to dry in the open air.

Yes, Pam... During the "dry run" of the Video, Jim explains that he uses the clothes pin to keep the tube down at the bottom of the bottle. I think he accomplishes that just by adding the weight of the clothes pin. The purpose is to keep the tube as close to the bottom of the bottle as possible, so the bubbles have more of a travel space before they hit air, so more of the ClO2 GAS can be trapped by the water. The longer the bottle, the more efficient the process.
