Stopping protocol? was created by 32tigerlily
Hi there. I'm new to MMS, but have read through Jim's book and am familiar with the protocol. I'm a nurse. I took it myself to make sure I could tolerate it and understood it before starting my elderly mom on it. She's been diagnosed with dementia, and I wanted to give it a try for her. We did the starting protocol and she tolerated that well. We are currently on day 17 of Protocol 1000. She's had some of the detox symptoms (mainly diarrhea and sleepiness), but I've been monitoring them and they actually got better on about day 12. Then two days ago she started having diarrhea, nausea (and vomiting) and got very, very sleepy again. But more concerning than that is that she's developed a distended abdomen. She doesn't seem to be constipated, and I'm a little concerned she may be retaining fluid in her abdomen. I'm contacting her doctor about getting her a diuretic to get rid of some fluid (and do diagnostic tests to assess what's really going on). I don't know what to do about the protocol now though. I know you're not supposed to stop it b/c of the toxins. Today I went down from 3 drops to 2 drops (instead of reducing by half) to hopefully minimize symptoms. Do we have to start over on the 21 days? What if she's had too much fluid and I have to stop? What will happen to the toxins in her system? Please help! I don't know how to find a doctor who is knowledgeable about MMS.
