The best is distilled. I distilled my propur filtered water and what was at the bottom of the distiller when done smelled and was disgusting. I'm assuming it is fluoride which is the hardest to filter out. This is the distiller I have nutriteam.com/collections/water-distillers/products/20102

If your water isn't fluoridated then you may be ok. Filtered water is much better than tap water.

Brita or carbon filters aren't good enough but slightly better than tap. Tap water is the worst. Mineral water is suggested as okay. I've started distilling my own water, wiki how shows the method. Basically, steam condensing on an upturned lid with ice on it.

for mixing MMS any water will be good. you probably can just use bottled water as well.
fluoride is definitely to be avoided, but not sure worrying too much about water makes sense.
brita is total junk btw.

In the US, distilled water is available for under a dollar per gallon at Walmart and many other markets.

Another alternative is ZeroWater pitchers. They reportedly do a good job.
