Residue left after making CDS was created by yati108
Recently after making CDS using Andreas Kalcker's method I found a white residue at the bottom of the shot glass used in the process. I was using 5ml 4% HCL as the activator and 5ml 22.4% sodium chlorite. My understanding is that these when combined for this process should remain clear without any residue after the 12 hr. period used to make the CDS. This residue appeared both in the first and second 12 period. The resultant CDS was measured at 3,000 ppm as expected but since this white residue is not usually found I was wondering if anyone else has had this experience and what this might have been. Could this indicate some contamination of the sodium chlorite I was using? My kit was purchased from an Australian seller at  www.mmshealthy4life.com/purchase-mms.html . Thank you.

Ive made CDS quite a few times with the same amount, 5mls of HCI, and 5 mls of Sodium Chlorite and Ive never had any white residue left. If I did, I would get rid of the whole batch! This is the problem when you buy sodium chlorite, it's difficult to know the quality. That's why I only buy from a few trusted places. But maybe there is another explanation. What does it look like when you use the same material to make standard MMS? does it activate at the correct color?

Yes it does look normal when activated for MMS. It is only after some period like when making CDS that the white residue appears. I have attached some pics.
