Are there any articles about mechanism of  how chlorine dioxide works against bacteria and viruses?  also does it kills beneficial bacteria and the gut flora? if not, what is the mechanism/mode recognizing beneficial vs harmful bacteria/viruses?

I had the same concerns you mentioned. After doing some research I don't have these concerns anymore.
