Can/Do I mix my DMSO with water to keep it liquid. If so at what ratio?

Pure DMSO liquid, not the gel type, should freeze at 60 F or lower. Adding water may change the freeze temperature.

We do add distilled water to DMSO for external use on the body depending on where that is. Upper body 50% diluted, elsewhere usually 70%. Apparently some liquid DMSO is already diluted to 70% when sold.

At what temp is your DMSO freezing?

Thanks. The purity of your DMSO is 99.99%, but is it diluted with water?

NO! is still in pure form and frozen at low temperature. I have received, today, my first bottle. It arrived frozen, but appears to be thawing at room temperature. Thank's

It must be cold where you live!

The reason for showing the bottle of DMSO is that the purity and dilution are printed on the bottle.

Some people confuse dilution with purity.

As you can see by looking at the photo of the bottle of DMSO, the purity is 99.9% and it is undiluted, meaning it has no added water. For our purposes, we usually dilute it to 70% or 50% DMSO to distilled water.

"It must be cold where you live!", you are right CLO2, I live in the centre of England, Lichfield, the city of Dr Johnson of 'Dictionary' fame. Thanks for all your advice.

Paul, I have lived in Northeast England and in County Sligo, Ireland in the past and yes, it is cold there. But, the main problem I found with the climate was the climate maintained inside most homes. Those stone and brick houses were difficult and expensive to heat, so most people kept the temperature down, low enough for DMSO to freeze! It seems Europeans have now discovered that insulation helps to keep their houses warmer. B)

Many years ago when I was living in England, I recall reading a label on a bottle that said to keep the bottle at normal room temperature, 55 degrees Fahrenheit! That's too cold for me!
